Heukino – Datenschutzerklärung

Stand: 29. September 2026

English version below

Außer beim automatischen Laden fehlender Senderlogos (dabei geht deine IP-Adresse an die genannten Server) gibt Heukino selbst keine Daten an Dritte weiter.

Speicherung in deiner iCloud

Keine Pflicht, keine automatisierten Entscheidungen

Heukino – Privacy Policy (English)

Last updated: 29 September 2026

This is a convenience translation. The German version above is the legally binding one.

This policy applies to the Heukino app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro from version 1.5.1. Anything that only exists from version 2.0 is marked “(from version 2.0)”. The website scheunencode.de has its own privacy policy.

Summary

Heukino does not collect, store, or sell any personal data on developer servers – there are no such servers. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking services. What you set up in Heukino stays on your devices and – if you use iCloud – in your personal, private iCloud database, which the developer cannot access.

Heukino only connects to your IPTV provider, to Apple (iCloud, App Store) and to the services listed below. The app uses most of these services only if you set them up yourself; missing channel logos are loaded automatically. We cannot access the data in Heukino or in your iCloud. All we get to see is what you write to us, what Apple passes on to us for the TestFlight beta and – if you allow it in your device settings – crash reports and aggregated usage figures from Apple.

What data the app processes

Connections to third-party services

Apart from automatically loading missing channel logos (which sends your IP address to the servers named above), Heukino itself does not pass any data to third parties. Your device reaches TMDb, OMDb, OpenSubtitles and Trakt only directly and at your request, with your own key or account. These services are mostly based outside the EU; their privacy policies apply. Withdrawal: if you delete a key, disconnect Trakt or turn off iCloud for Heukino in your device settings, the respective transfer stops immediately.

Storage in your iCloud

For storage in your private iCloud database we are the controller within the meaning of the GDPR; Apple processes the data on our behalf under the terms of the Apple Developer Program. We cannot view it ourselves. Apple may also store this data outside the EU, in particular with Apple Inc. in the USA; according to Apple, such transfers are safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Your iCloud also contains your playlist addresses, the stream addresses of started movies and episodes (with Xtream including your password, with M3U often including credentials) and, for M3U playlists, the stream addresses used as identifiers, which may include credentials. Apple encrypts this data in transit and on its servers, but not end-to-end.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases (Heukino Premium) are handled entirely by Apple (App Store / StoreKit). Heukino receives no payment or identity data; the app only checks on the device whether Premium is unlocked.

TestFlight beta

If you take part in the TestFlight beta, Apple passes your feedback, crash reports and – if you were invited by email – your name and email address on to us (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).

Email and support

If you write to us by email or via “Send Feedback”, we process your details (email address, name if given, content, optional device details, an attached diagnostics report and attachments) to handle your request and for follow-up questions (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Emails to kontakt@scheunencode.de are received by our host OVHcloud as a processor on servers in the EU and forwarded to our Apple mailbox (iCloud Mail), where we read and answer them. Apple may also store the emails in the USA (Apple Inc.; according to Apple, safeguarded by EU Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not share this data with other third parties without your consent. We keep support, feedback and diagnostics emails for no more than 12 months after your request has been resolved and then delete them, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.

Legal bases

Retention

What Heukino stores on your devices and in your iCloud stays there until you delete it (see “Deletion”). The app refreshes its caches itself; it usually reloads the iptv-org logo list at most once a week. For emails, the period under “Email and support” applies. We likewise delete TestFlight feedback no later than 12 months after it has been resolved; the name and email address of invited testers are kept only as long as you take part in the beta. Apple keeps crash reports and usage figures in its developer tools; Apple decides for how long. We keep our own copies of them for no more than 12 months after the bug has been fixed.

Deletion

You delete a playlist in Settings under “Playlists”; Heukino also removes its password from the Keychain. Favorites, profiles, watch progress, “recently watched” and the learned preferences are kept so they are back when you add the same playlist again – on the device, in your iCloud and in the backup file. They may contain credentials: with Xtream the addresses of started movies and episodes including the password, with M3U stream addresses (see “Playlists and credentials”). When you delete the app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Apple Vision Pro, the system removes its data on the device; Keychain entries and data in your iCloud remain. To remove every trace, first delete the playlist in Heukino and then Heukino's data in your device's iCloud settings.

No obligation, no automated decisions

You are under no statutory or contractual obligation to provide your data. Without your account details, however, Heukino cannot play anything. There is no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR; recommendations only arrange what is shown.

Your rights

You have the rights under Art. 15–21 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)

Where we process data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation – informally, by email to kontakt@scheunencode.de.

Notices for users outside the EU

Notice for U.S. residents

We do not sell personal data, do not share it for targeted advertising and do not use it for profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Recommendations are computed on your device and are not sent to us. The only personal data we can see are messages you send us (name, e-mail address, content), the details Apple passes on to us if you join the TestFlight beta and – if you allow it – crash reports from Apple; we use them solely to answer you and to fix bugs. For data in your iCloud, see above; we cannot access it. Depending on your state, you may have the right to confirm, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal data. E-mail kontakt@scheunencode.de or write to Johannes Christian Müller, Rauhe Hardt 78, 58642 Iserlohn, Germany. We respond within 45 days. If we decline, reply with “Appeal”; we decide within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state attorney general (Texas: Consumer Privacy Rights).

UK users

You can complain to us by e-mail to kontakt@scheunencode.de (subject “Privacy complaint”). We acknowledge complaints within 30 days and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the ICO.

Switzerland

The services named above may receive your IP address in the USA. For Switzerland, the USA is adequate only for companies certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can report concerns to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
